Pamela Anderson is an active advocate for animal rights, and is a member and spokesperson for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Specifically, she is against the use of fur in clothing.
History - Born in 1967, Pamela Anderson became a vegetarian when she was a teenager when she witnessed her father gutting an animal he had shot and killed. She began her celebrity career when she appeared on the cover of a playboy magazine in 1989. Afterwards, she became a well known playboy model. She began her acting career on Home Improvement, but she is most well known for her role in Baywatch. She also had a brief pro wrestling career, appearing at the "Royal Rumble". In 2010, she was a contestant on the hit reality TV show "Dancing with the Stars".
Anderson's activism is mainly focused to animal rights and PETA. In 2001 she released a video with her narrating and helping to expose the horrific treatment of chickens by the KFC corporation.
Additionally, Anderson has campaigned against seal hunting in Canada. Most recently, she appeared in an ad and spoke to the public about seal hunting.
Anderson worked with PETA in a campaign against POM, a fruit juice company most known for their pomegranate juice. This campaign successfully got POM to halt their testing on animals. In 2005, she became a spokesperson for MACs "MAC AIDS Fund". She raised money in various events in Toronto, Tokyo, Athens, and Dublin. She was also a spokesperson for the American Liver Foundation.
